Lee Frees
Lee
began his mountaineering career in the Sierra in 1968. He currently
has 35+ years of peaks ascents on his resume by both technical and
non technical routes. Over the past 25+ years Lee has done countless
backcountry ski tours including several trans Sierra tours and many
of the noteworthy couloirs throughout the eastern and western Sierra,
in addition to areas in Utah. Lee has ascents of Mt. McKinley, Aconcagua
in Argentina, and Mt. Elbrus in Russia, and instructs avalanche
courses. Lee has maintained an EMT certification since 1984 and
has been a trainer for the Mammoth Mountain Ski Patrol, and a technical
advisor and operations leader for the Mono County Search and Rescue.
