Mt. Kenya 17,058’ (5199M)

This is the second highest mountain in Africa. Point Lenana is Mt. Kenya’s trekking summit and offers a chance to see a part of the East African wild lands traveled on by only a fraction of the number of people who visit Kilimanjaro. Batian is the mountaineering summit, which was first climbed by the legendary adventurers Eric Shipton and Percy Wyn Harris in 1929 of what we now call the Normal Route. Today it is a 20-pitch rock climb rated at 5.5. This climb offers a unique and remote high altitude alpine rock climb that is attempted by only a handful of people each year.

Mt. Kenya is Africa’s second tallest peak and requires technical rock climbing skills to reach its summit. These mountains rise above a land that hosts some of the most legendary wildlife on our planet. We divide our Africa trip into four components. Each offers something unique and you can pick between different options depending on your interests.
