Classic 3rd Class Peak Ascents

3rd Class climbs require the use of hands and feet but no previous rock climbing training is necessary and we bring a rope for safety. These are exhilarating and rewarding climbs for anyone in good physical shape who enjoys a limited amount of moderate exposure. Listed here are a few of our favorite peaks that fit in to this category. We list some with scheduled dates with prices based on a minimum of two. Alpine Ice Climbs

Many peaks in the Sierra contain couloirs that hold permanent snow and ice. As the summer stretches into August many melt freeze cycles have hardened spring snow creating high quality alpine ice. These climbs range in length, steepness and difficulty and offer something for everybody. We have been ice climbing since 1987 and are intimately familiar with the many fine gully ice climbs in the Sierra. Listed below are some with scheduled dates and prices based on a minimum of two. Mt. Whitney is the highest mountain in the contiguous 48 states and one of the most sought after peaks in the United States. We climb Mt. Whitney by several routes throughout the year and each trip offers its own unique experience and requires different mountaineering skills.
