This fun filled trip is the perfect way to get introduced to the outdoors.

Overview

Do you enjoy the outdoors and want to learn the skills necessary to execute a successful overnight adventure? On this fun-packed adventure our professional guides discuss equipment selection and use of overnight gear including tents, stoves, cook gear, sleeping bags, backpacks, water filters and more. We offer tips and suggestions on how to efficiently load a pack, plan meals, and choose campsites. Other topics include how to deal with inclement weather, lightening storms, recognizing objective hazards, dealing with animals from rodents to bears, and designing itineraries. All information imparted has come collectively through many years of backcountry travel and we will pass on many of our instructor’s “secrets” and “tricks of the trade”. This course follows all the guidelines for Leave No Trace ethics.
